So this morning I’m writing at Brown Cup, at my favorite table right next to the assorted fresh pastries - it’s one of the only 2 tables with power access - and an old man came up to me and we had the following, lovely conversation :

Old man: I see you’re good on a computer.

Me: I’m not bad, I guess.

Old man: Would you like to make some extra money typing?

Me: Oh, I can’t. I’m busy writing.

Old man: Yes, writing. I’m offering you a typing job.

Me: Yeah, but I already have a job so I can’t really take another job.

Old man: You don’t understand. I’m offering you a job. I need some things typed up for me.

Me: I’d love to, but I’m really too busy to except any more typing jobs.

(he just stares at me, disappointed)

Old man: Do you have any friends who want a job typing?

Me: Not really. My friends are all horrible typers. I’m the best of the bunch, and even I’m not that great.

Old man: Okay.

He then sits right next to me to eat his eggs, so he has to watch me work and see that, in fact, I’m actually an amazing typer.

This is the kind of hijinks the school uniforms were supposed to...
